While wearing the 1990s-era Vancouver Grizzlies jerseys on the matching throwback court, 20-year-old Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant whipped out another product of '90s basketball, pulling a lightning-quick transition Shammgod on the Portland Trail Blazers defense.

Morant is the heavy favorite to win Rookie of the Year, averaging 17.6 points and seven assists per game while leading the young Grizzlies (27-26) to the eighth seed in the Western Conference, with a chance to pull four ahead on Portland on Wednesday.

Ja has quickly become one of the most exciting players in the league to watch with several highlight reels to his name. As his clip package continues to grow, so does his chances to bag the Rookie of the Year crown — not that the Grizzlies point guard needs any more help, although the New Orleans Pelicans' Zion Williamson is just in his rearview mirror.

On a related note, God Shammgod is now an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks, specializing in teaching ball-handling.
