It's not only Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James who made history on Friday night. Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young also balled out on his way to a franchise record never done before.

Young finished the game against the Lakers with 25 points, nine rebounds and 14 assists in the 134-118 defeat. While the Hawks would have wished for the W, Young's performance still did provide some positives since he now holds the record for the longest streak with at least 25 points in team history.

As ESPN Stats & Info highlighted, Young broke the record held by Dominique Wilkins with his 17th straight 25-point game. It started last November 22nd, and the sharpshooter has a chance to extend that feat on Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Unfortunately for Trae Young, the only blemish of his otherwise solid game was his nine turnovers against the Lakers. He had a hard time dealing with the LA defense, so he certainly needs to work on that aspect of his game if he wants to keep his scoring streak going while leading the Hawks to wins.

Atlanta fell to 17-21 on the season, 12th place in the Eastern Conference. It's a massive drop from their performance in 2020-21, during which they finished fifth and made it all the way to the conference finals.

It's still too early to count out the Hawks, and with the way Young is playing, they can certainly turn their campaign around.
