Whether the NBA ends up crowing a 2019-20 champion remains to be seen, but Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young shared his take on what team he thinks was on their way to a ring. While chatting on Instagram Live Saturday with former Hawks teammate, and current Long Island Nets player, Justin Anderson, the All-Star sophomore said he was picking the Los Angeles Lakers to win the franchise's 17th championship—primarily based on the play of LeBron James.

“For sure. ‘Bron was on a different mission,” Young told Anderson. “It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. That's why he's the greatest in my eyes, bro.”

When the season was paused on March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic, LeBron's Lakers (49-14) were 5.5 games up on the L.A. Clippers (44-20) for the best record in the Western Conference, though they still trail the Milwaukee Bucks (53-12) for the league's overall best record. The Bucks also top the NBA in net rating (10.7), with the Lakers coming in second at 7.1.

However, just before the league halted its regular season, James' late-season MVP campaign was picking up steam after high-profile consecutive wins over the Bucks and Clippers—along with the minor knee injury to presumed frontrunner Giannis Antetokounmpo.

On the season, James' 17th, the 35-year old was still putting up staggering numbers of 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and a league-leading 10.6 assists per game.

Meanwhile, Young and the Hawks endured another rocky campaign, as they try to understand what they really have in their young core.
