Christmas Day 2021 is supposed to be a memorable one for Trae Young. After proving himself as a legitimate star despite all the snub, he and the Atlanta Hawks finally got the recognition they deserve with a Christmas showdown with the New York Knicks.

However, less than a week before the game, he got a massive blow after falling victim to COVID-19 and entering the league's health and safety protocols. Now, latest reports on his status indicate that he is unlikely to clear protocols in time to suit up on Saturday against the ‘Bockers.

Sure enough, he's not happy about it. Who would be? After all, the game against the Knicks was highly anticipated because of the budding rivalry between them and the Hawks. Young took his frustrations to Twitter with some NSFW remarks.

To make matters worse for the Hawks, they now have nine players in COVID-19 protocols–with youngster Onyeka Okongwu and replacement player Wes Iwundu being added to the list. It is certainly a huge blow to an Atlanta team that has only John Collins left as its main weapon.

Trae Young, for his part, couldn't help but share his disappointment about the situations and the never-ending problems caused by COVID-19.

Young and the Hawks are not the only ones affected by COVID-19, though, as plenty of teams–even those playing on Christmas–have had more than their fair share of outbreaks (just ask the Brooklyn Nets). With that said, Atlanta has really no other choice but navigate the situation to the best of their abilities.

Still, we can't blame Young for being this frustrated.
