Following the departure of All-Star forward Paul Millsap to the Denver Nuggets via free agency, it has put the Atlanta Hawks in the market for some help in the frontcourt.

According to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, the Hawks have reached out to express in restricted free agent forward Nerlens Noel.

Noel hasn't received much interest around the league since the start of free agency aside from the Dallas Mavericks, who have already made it a point to keep things fluid between both sides. The Mavericks hold the final say in any instance as they can match any offer that is thrown toward the 23-year-old on the open market.

There were reports before the start of free agency that Noel was receiving interest from several teams across the league and was potentially eyeing a max deal from the Mavericks that would pay him about $108.5 million over four years with an annual salary of $25.2 million. However, it doesn't appear that the front office is too high on the idea of throwing that type of money toward Noel.

Noel was acquired by the Mavericks from the Philadelphia 76ers prior to the February trade deadline this last season. He averaged 8.5 points on 57.5 percent shooting from the field with 6.8 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 21 games played, including 12 starts, with Dallas.
