Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young drained a clutch 3-pointer over the New York Knicks in double overtime — the shot which proved to be the dagger.

What made it poetic was that Young hit the 3-pointer right in front of the Knicks bench. The Hawks eventually won, 140-135.

Trae Young finished with another big night: 48 points and 13 assists across 48 minutes of action. He shot 13-of-30 from the field, 6-of-13 from deep, and 16-of-16 from the free-throw line. Big man John Collins added 32 points and 16 rebounds in 50 minutes, while De'Andre Hunter had 19 points and nine rebounds in 48 minutes.

The Hawks have successfully bounced back from Friday's loss to the Boston Celtics. They head to Amway Center to face the Orlando Magic before going to Cleveland to round up their two-game road trip.

The Knicks got contributions from Julius Randle who dropped 35 points and snagged 18 rebounds. Reggie Bullock chipped in 21 points, while Wayne Ellington and Mitchell Robinson had 15 points apiece.

Atlanta is no 15-39 on the season, while New York is at 17-37 following a four-game winning run.
