The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly mulling over the idea of trading their first-round draft pick for veteran help. One report from ESPN's Zach Lowe suggests New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday as a potential target, but will the Hawks be able to pull off such a deal?

The Hawks have the No. 6 overall pick in the upcoming draft. They already have a lot of young talent on the roster, and a veteran would help them take a step forward.

As part of a recent piece for ESPN, Zach Lowe notes the Hawks might try to make a move for Holiday with this pick. The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly talking with other teams about a Holiday trade.

Would the pick be enough by itself, though? Probably not:

The Hawks might try nabbing Holiday using their No. 6 pick — which they would be open to trading for veteran help, per several sources — but I don't see that alone getting it done. Would they attach one of their young wings?

The Hawks have Cam Reddish, De'Andre Hunter and Kevin Huerter as young wings available to dangle in a trade. The Pelicans might like one of those players to add to their promising young core starring Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram.

At 20-47 overall, Atlanta suffered a disappointing season despite Trae Young's individual heroics. In fact, the Hawks' record was the second-worst mark in the Eastern Conference, just ahead of the 19-46 Cleveland Cavaliers.

Holiday would be a solid acquisition for any team, as he's a proven two-way threat. In 61 appearances last season, the former UCLA Bruin racked up averages of 19.1 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field (35.3 percent from beyond the arc), 6.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds.

Let's see if the Hawks make a move.
