With the NBA season quickly winding down, several individual accolades are set to be handed out in June. While the MVP award is usually the one garnering the most attention, there is quite the battle for DPOY as well. Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo is well in the running, but the likes of Marcus Smart, Mikal Bridges, and Rudy Gobert are also making their case for winning it.

Adebayo however, believes he is a clear pick to capture DPOY because of his ability to literally guard all five positions on the floor, no questions asked.

Via JJ Redick's Old Man And Three Podcast:

“I legit guard one through five. Like at any point in time in the game on the defensive end, I could guard all five players. Every last one of them and will not bat an eye.”

The Heat star definitely has a point. Whether it's an opposing big or a guard out on the perimeter, Bam is capable of switching off and containing anyone. His numbers also speak for themselves. Aside from the offensive versatility of 19.1 points, 3.4 assists, and 10.4 rebounds, he's registering 7.7 defensive boards per game while also collecting 0.8 blocks and 1.4 steals.

Bam has already been named two the All-Defensive Team twice in his career. He's clearly hungry for DPOY next. It will be interesting to see if the Heat center takes home the honors.
