Having fallen short of reaching the postseason, Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic is set to weigh his future in the coming months of the offseason, likely considering opting out of the $19.2 million player-option in his contract.

“I'm not going to talk about that now. It doesn't make sense right now,” he said, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “I mean it's tough, after injury and everything else. It's a lot of factors. I'll try to do what is best for my career, for my family. It's going to require to talk a lot and see from there what's going to be best.”

The 32-year-old Slovenian played only 36 games this season after a slew of untimely injuries, including the knee pain that ultimately led to surgery in December, leaving him playing in a bulky brace.

Dragic could wind up trading the $19.2 million for one last lucrative deal to set him up for the rest of his career.

If he and Hassan Whiteside wind up opting out of their respective contracts, it could mean as much as $20 million off the books for the Heat, which could put them in line to sign another mid-to-high-tier player for the 2019-20 season.

Dragic posted a subpar 13.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game through an injury-riddled season, drawing starts in only 22 of his 36 appearances for the Heat.
