The Miami Heat lost to the LA Clippers on Wednesday night, and the loss was made worse by the fact that they didn’t have Jimmy Butler on the court at the end of the game due to a shoulder injury. Fortunately for Heat Nation, the injury is not as severe as once feared.

Ethan Skolnick of 5 Reasons Sports posted an update on the condition of the Miami guard. He said that there’s no reason why the Heat guard shouldn’t be able to play soon as the injury isn’t that serious after all.

This is good news for Heat fans as they already have a number of injuries on their roster. Meyers Leonard didn’t play against the Clippers due to his ankle injury while Tyler Herro was sidelined because of a foot injury. All of them are questionable to play against the Sacramento Kings on Friday, so at least the trio has a shot to play in that game.

Moreover, Butler is excited about the arrival of Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies. While they had to part with Justise Winslow, the addition of a versatile wing player who can defend as well as contribute to the offense is a great boon to the Heat’s playoff hopes.

Butler himself is relishing the opportunity to play with Iggy, per Adam Wells of Bleacher Report:

“He’s super smart,” Butler said of his new teammate. “There’s nothing he cannot do. When I get to learn from him, when everyone gets to learn from him, that winning level, that meter, is going up in everyone’s mind.”

Butler had a decent night against the Clippers, finishing with 11 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

His points tally was way below his season tally of 20.5 points per game, so he’ll be looking to perform better when he returns from injury.
