Former NBA point guard Mario Chalmers says he and members of the Miami Heat — past and current — are “connected for life.”

Chalmers is playing in the BIG3, but wants to play in the NBA again. The two-time champion with the Heat says the bond he forged with Miami and his teammates in South Beach will never be broken.

“I still talk to D-Wade (Dwyane Wade), still talk to UD (Udonis Haslem), still talk to CB (Chris Bosh), Mike Miller, Ray Allen a lot,” Chalmers said, via the Sun Sentinel. “Some of the new guys. I talk to Bam [Adebayo], I talk to Dion [Waiters], James Johnson. I still talk to Tyler Johnson. Still talk to Norris Cole. I still talk to a lot of people on that team. It just shows that bond, that grind that we all went through. It made us connected for life.”

Mario Chalmers was part of the LeBron James-Dwyane Wade-Chris Bosh-led teams which won back-to-back championships. The guard played eight seasons in Miami. Chalmers finished his Heat career with averages of 8.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 525 regular season games.

Chalmers played two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies after his Heat tenure ended. The former Kansas Jayhawk last played in the NBA during the 2017-18 season. He missed the entire 2016-17 campaign recovering from a torn Achilles.

The BIG3 is currently in Miami, so Chalmers is revisiting all those great times he had with the Heat.
