Goran Dragic of the Miami Heat has suffered a foot injury in Game 1 of the NBA Finals when he was being defended by Rajon Rondo of the Los Angeles Lakers. Video from The Sports Network shows the apparent injury here:

Goran Dragic, who had been the Heat’s leading scorer in its magical run to the NBA Finals in the Eastern Conference, is an important cog that will be sorely missed by Miami as they look to defeat the favored Lakers.

The Heat rode tremendous defense and hot shooting from various contributors to make it to the Finals but a glut of players including Dragic, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and others seemingly suffered injuries in Game 1 that might continue to nag them the rest of the series.

Having any series, let alone the NBA Finals, be decided by injuries would be tough to swallow, so let’s hope Dragic is able to recover quickly and return to action.
