Before actually being drafted, some prospects already have a good idea which team will pick them. Since months before the draft, some of these players are invited by NBA teams for workouts and interviews. For Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, he thought that he'd get picked by the Boston Celtics.
In a recent Instagram Live session, the incoming Heat sophomore made the bold admission. However, he's pleased with where he's at right now.
Tyler Herro said on Instagram Live he thought he was going to Boston in the draft. "I got blessed to come here instead of there."

To recall, Herro was selected by the Heat with the 13th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Interestingly, the Celtics had the 14th pick that year and chose Romeo Langford. To make more things intriguing, the Cs also had picks 20 and 22.
Herro was invited by the Celtics to work out prior to the NBA Draft. The kid put on a good showing, and it subsequently boosted his draft stock in the weeks leading to the rookie selection. While some analysts and fans claim that he's the biggest steal of the batch that featured Zion Williamson and Ja Morant, those behind the scenes already knew that Herro is the real deal.
Someone in the know just told me Tyler Herro "blew away" the Celtics in his workout this morning. Finished the workout having made 80 of 100 three point attempts. From all accounts, Herro seems to be picking up a LOT of positive buzz throughout the draft process

As Tyler Herro noted, he feels blessed to have been picked by the Heat, especially with how things turned out last season. But in all honestly, he would still be in a great position if he was donning a Celtics jersey right now. After all, the Brad Stevens-coached squad have been perennial playoff contenders over the last couple of years.
Given Herro's skill and swag, it's not hard to imagine him doing some work in a Celtics jersey.
