The Charlotte Hornets are beefing up their roster in the second half of the 2021-2022 NBA regular season. They are signing a 10-day deal with Isaiah Thomas. NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted the news Tuesday afternoon.

Thomas has spent this season in and out of the NBA and the G League. Besides his 10-day stints with multiple NBA teams, he has been most of his time with the Grand Rapids Gold, the Denver Nuggets NBA G League affiliate.

The new Hornets' acquisition made his NBA season debut on a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in December. Later that month, he joined the Dallas Mavericks on a 10-day contract. This will be Thomas' tenth team in his NBA career and his third NBA team this season.

The point guard has been remarkable for the Rapids this season. Thomas put up 45 points in a single game in a Rapids' late February game, catching the attention of NBA teams, including the Hornets.

Charlotte is struggling to get their footing this season. They have a losing record of 30-33 and sit in 10th in the Eastern Conference.

First-year star LaMelo Ball should welcome the company of 33-year old Thomas as a chance to get the Hornets above .500. Ball averages 19.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. He leads the team in points and assists.
