It will be weird to see LeBron James wearing a Los Angeles Lakers uniform next season, but it’s not stranger than Tony Parker donning a jersey that’s not the San Antonio Spurs', as we've at least seen James shift from one thread to another before.

Parker, however, had an option to avoid basketball fans from recalibrating their expectations for next season, as he also had an offer on his table from the Spurs to keep him in San Antonio, according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN’s Undefeated. Parker had an offer from the Denver Nuggets too, but he chose to head to the Eastern Conference instead, where he’ll be joining his countryman and Charlotte swingman Nic Batum while reuniting with former Spurs assistant coach James Borrego, who is now the head coach of the Hornets, succeeding Steve Clifford.

New Hornets guard Tony Parker told ESPN’s The Undefeated that he also considered offers from the Nuggets and the Spurs before signing a two-year, $10 million offer from Charlotte.

Tony Parker spent all of his first 17 seasons in the NBA in San Antonio, and over that span he won four NBA titles and was named to six All-Star teams. Although he’s now 36 and has lost some of his quickness, Parker is still viewed as someone who can contribute to the Hornet’s backcourt behind Kemba Walker.

Last season, Parker played 55 games for the Spurs and put up averages of 7.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 45.9 percent from the field, primarily as a backup to Dejounte Murray.
