The Boston Celtics this offseason have made several moves to help restructure the team to better compete for an NBA title next season.

However, the organization has a looming decision to make involving All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas, who is set to enter the final year of his deal worth just $6.3 million. In light of that, Thomas was asked about his impending free agency making it clear what he wants next summer.

Thomas made a tremendous impact on the Celtics since being acquired back in 2014 turning the team into a constant in the playoffs while leading it to its first Eastern Conference Finals in five years

The 28-year-old is also coming off his best individual season where he averaged career highs with 28.9 points on 46.3 percent shooting from the field along with 5.9 assists that helped him earn his second All-Star team selection and first All-NBA Second Team nod.

The Celtics will likely base their long-term commitment to Thomas based on how the team performs next season. If he is the leading offensive factor while making them into a real threat to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference, there's no reason to believe that Boston won't heavily consider offering him a max contract.
