Even though Jadeveon Clowney re-signed with the Cleveland Browns for just a mere one year, he has big goals in mind for the upcoming 2022 season.

Speaking to the Browns' “Best Podcast Available,” Clowney noted that he opted to stay put in Cleveland to help lead the team to its first-ever Super Bowl win.

“I just want to chase that Super Bowl,” Clowney said. “I think we got a shot at it. We got a great defense last year, we went out and got some more key players on offense and some more on defense. I feel like we got a shot.

“I wouldn't want to do it on another team than the one I just played with last year.”

As Clowney mentioned, Browns general manager Andrew Berry worked overtime over the past months to bolster the team’s depth on the defensive side of the ball. Not only did he successfully re-sign Clowney, but he also selected former UAB standout Alex Wright in the third round of last month's 2022 NFL Draft and traded for defensive end Chase Winovich from the New England Patriots.

Berry’s success in rejuvenating the defense comes as the unit simply shined last season, which included ranking at fifth in passing yards allowed per game with a 202.3 average. More so, the Browns tallied 43 total sacks over the campaign.

In the big picture, Clowney and Browns sure are set for fierce competition just from within their own division in the AFC North later this year.
