Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson took a turn for the worse Thursday, after reportedly missing practice with heel and knee injuries.

Robinson had been battling these injuries for weeks, forcing him to miss Week 9 vs the Buffalo Bills. He  returned in Week 10 and has played through the pain since. Robinson has averaged 17 touches per game in the three weeks since and it appeared like he was putting the injuries behind him.

Robinson was limited at Wednesday's practice, which had become a weekly occurrence. But, Robinson being downgraded to Out in Thursday's practice does not bode well for his outlook Sunday.

Robinson looked to continue his recent success, having scored a touchdown in two of his last three games and in the other, put up 115 yards from scrimmage. The Jaguars face the Rams Sunday. Los Angeles has struggled this season stopping the run.

With rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence still growing in the offense, Robinson was in store for a heavy work load.

If Robinson is forced to miss the game Sunday, veteran running back Carlos Hyde should lead the Jaguars backfield. In limited game action this season, Hyde has been relatively effective, but still lacks the burst that Robinson brings to the table. Plus, Robinson is a threat out of the backfield.

With an angry Los Angeles Rams team in desperate need of a win, losing your most effective player offensively would be a big blow to Urban Meyer and the Jaguars chances.
