The Jacksonville Jaguars have ushered in some changes under center behind Gardner Minshew this offseason. It seems head coach Doug Marrone is well aware of the level of intelligence that will be featured in the quarterback room for the 2020 NFL season.

According to Demetrius Harvey of SI.com, Marrone is confident that his quarterbacks would be any team in a game of jeopardy:

“We’ll challenge any damn team in the league to jeopardy with our quarterbacks”

He was asked about both Dobbs and Minshew getting high marks on the wonderlic test, Dobbs being a rocket scientist.

There is certainly plenty of truth to Marrone's comments when it comes down to the cognitive abilities of the quarterbacks on the Jaguars' depth chart. Of course, the onus will ultimately come down to him to help them make it translate to the field.

Minshew graduated high school early in order to attend Troy University on an academic scholarship. Following an eventful college career, he eventually emerged into a bonafide NFL prospect as a graduate student at Washington State.

Quarterback Joshua Dobbs graduated from Tennessee and majored in aerospace engineering at the University of Tennessee while boasting a 4.0 grade point average en route to being named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll. Meanwhile, quarterback Mike Glennon graduated from NC State with a bachelor's degree in Business Management and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies.

Quarterback is easily one of the most cerebral positions in all of sports and having a high level of intelligence is often considered a prerequisite. Regardless, it will hardly be a determining factor when it comes generating wins under center.
