New England Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski has proven over his career to be mismatch nightmare at times for opposing defenses.

However, this isn't the train of thought that Jacksonville Jaguars All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey has in any manner as he believes that Gronkowski has never faced a cornerback like him up to this point in his career, according to Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com.

“He hasn't played a corner like me before,” he told reporters Friday. When asked exactly what he meant by the statement, Ramsey quickly replied, “Everything.”

In his first two seasons in the league, Ramsey has become quite a vocal and confident player in his ability on the field. These comments come just a few days after he declared to fans at EverBank Field following the Divisional Round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers that the Jaguars were going to win the Super Bowl.

Ramsey may hold the utmost confidence in his ability on the field, but Gronkowski is one of the most talented receiving tight ends that the league has ever seen. On top of that, he has had a huge amount of success in the playoffs throughout his career as his 10 receiving touchdowns are tied for third all-time behind only Jerry Rice’s 22 and John Stallworth’s 12.

Gronkowski is also first among tight ends in that category, and his 835 receiving yards in the postseason are second place all-time at his position trailing only Dallas Clark’s all-time record of 847 yards. On top of that, he has career 100-yard receiving games in the postseason, which are tied for third all-time among tight ends, behind Vernon Davis (four) and Keith Jackson (four). He has unique size at his position at 6-foot-6 and 265 lbs while possessing a great ability to make tough grabs in traffic.

The biggest challenge for Ramsey could be the height advantage being five inches shorter than Gronkowski that could cause problems on balls thrown at a higher placement. Ultimately, this potential matchup could be a key part in determining the amount of offensive success the Patriots will have against the Jaguars as Gronkowski figures to play a huge part in the passing game.
