The Jacksonville Jaguars have made some tough decisions this offseason. As a result, they have had to part ways with several of their key members from the 2017 NFL season.

Among them was the departure of cornerback Aaron Colvin to the Houston Texans. According to Phillip Heilman of the Florida Times-Union, cornerback Jalen Ramsey says the defense is going to miss Colvin in the 2018 NFL season:

“That’s going to hurt us,” Ramsey said. “We’re going to have to try to figure out a way to mend that hole just a little bit. But it’s definitely going to hurt us. It’s going to hurt us that he went to one of our rival teams.”

Colvin was selected by Jacksonville in the fourth-round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The former Oklahoma product had endured a rocky start to his career before enjoying his best season yet in 2017.

Colvin had earned a spot as the team's third cornerback on the depth chart behind Ramsey and A.J. Bouye. Needless to say, he brought some tremendous depth to a Jaguars' secondary that was pegged as the most formidable unit in the league. Colvin registered 45 tackles and five pass deflections during the 2017 campaign.

That said, it seems he was ready to take on a larger role with a Texans team that is desperate for more depth in the secondary. He also earned himself a lucrative payday in the process after signing a four-year, $34 million deal with Houston. Meanwhile, Jacksonville is hoping cornerback D.J. Hayden can step up and fill Colvin's spot next season.
