Jacksonville Jaguars star Jalen Ramsey has made it clear that he wants a contract extension and evidently, the team has made it clear that he won't be getting it this year. Speaking to the media at mandatory minicamp, Ramsey said that the team informed him that there would be no contract extension coming his way this year.

Ramsey is a talent on the field but at many times has found himself in Tom Coughlin's doghouse. He has been called out for his antics more than once by the front office.

Ramsey still has two years left on his rookie deal, so there isn't a real rush to get an extension done for the Jaguars. Before locking him up long term the Jaguars probably want to make sure that he continues to play well on the field, and also stay out of trouble off of it.

The good news for the Jaguars is that Ramsey is still at mandatory minicamp, even though the two aren't working on an extension at this point. Ramsey's teammate Yannick Ngakoue surprised a lot of people when he didn't report to camp on Monday and said that he would hold out until a new contract is in place.

If Ramsey continues to do the right thing of the field and say the right thing in the media, maybe showing up at mandatory minicamp will be enough to get back in good graces with the front office and get a long term deal with the team that drafted him.
