Jamal Crawford is a frontrunner of two of Los Angeles' finest shooting guards to take the Golden State Warriors‘ vacancy at the off-guard position, according to a dual report by ESPN's Chris Haynes and Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

With a potential double sign-and-trade, three-way team swap coming down the pipe today, the L.A. Clippers‘ sixth man is expected to request an immediate buyout from the Atlanta Hawks — his destination team per the trade mechanic specifics, given the team's current state of rebuilding.

If the Warriors still possess their $5.2 million exception, Crawford would be willing to make a return to the Bay Area after playing 54 games for Don Nelson‘s team during the 2008-09 season.

Another fit to the puzzle could be Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Nick Young, who has been hanging with Draymond Green, as known by the latter's Snapchat story — possibly vying for that second-unit spot behind the sharp-shooting Klay Thompson.

He is expected to make his decision between joining the Warriors or the New Orleans Pelicans later today or Wednesday, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

Aside from loving the Bay Area as a destination spot, Crawford, a three-time former Sixth Man of the Year, has been known to have a really close bond with Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who left $9.5 million of his salary on the table to make this a winning roster for years down the road.

Having secured the contracts of Shaun Livingston, Stephen Curry, David West, Andre Iguodala, Durant, and now a potential welcome of Crawford or Young into the fold — president Bob Myers is earning every bit of his Executive of the Year award early in the offseason, one which many mockingly dubbed as the “I signed Kevin Durant award.”

Either Crawford or Young would have to be willing to play at a discount in order to secure a run with the defending champions, but given the depth of consideration for these two flamethrowers — it's clearly a concession they're more than willing to make.
