Given a potential double sign-and-trade, three-way swap in the works between the L.A. Clippers, the Denver Nuggets, and the Atlanta Hawks goes through, sixth man Jamal Crawford could swing a reunion with the Golden State Warriors, a franchise for which he played for in the ninth season of his career, according to Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News.

Reportedly willing to seek a buyout from the rebuilding Hawks if he lands there, Crawford and the Warriors were linked to each other last summer before he chose to return to the Clippers.

Back in the 2008-09 season, the Michigan standout torched the now-defunct Charlotte Bobcats for 50 points in a flamethrower-like outing, going 14-of-26 from the floor, 5-of-8 from deep and a smooth 17-of-18 from the free-throw line — becoming only one of four players in NBA history to have a 50-point game to his name with three different franchises (Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Warriors).

Crawford's stint in the Bay Area was short after playing 54 games for the team, shortly heading to the Hawks for which he would play his next two seasons.

The Warriors still have room to add valuable free agents, given Kevin Durant‘s courteous discount of $9.5 million this season, but Crawford will have to be willing to take less than his $14.2 million incumbent salary in order for it to be a proper fit.

Golden State will likely miss on from the services of reserve guard Ian Clark, who is bound to get more lucrative offers elsewhere — leaving a spot open behind Klay Thompson at shooting guard — a plug-and-play for Crawford to come in.

The three-time Sixth Man of the Year put up 12.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 rebounds in his last of five years with the Clippers, appearing in all 82 games.
