The NBA offseason is usually a busy time for players who are searching for their next contract. Figuring out where to play can be a daunting task. But for firmly entrenched players with contracts for next season, the offseason can be a bit less serious. After Donovan Mitchell tweeted about possibly seeing Kevin Hart in Salt Lake City, Ricky Rubio felt the need to chime in.

The culture in Utah seems pretty good right now. Donovan Mitchell and Ricky Rubio exchanged tweets that ended up with Mitchell referring to Rubio as “Jesus.” Rubio certainly has the look down with his long flowing locks and his beard. Although Rubio might win a Jesus look-alike contest, Mitchell is playing the role of savior for the Jazz on the court.

Mitchell and Rubio appear to have as much chemistry off the court as they do on the court. Rubio and Mitchell had an impressive net rating of 7.5 when on the court together during the 2017-18 season.

Rubio also acted as a mentor for the rookie. Rubio came into the league as a high lottery pick with high expectations. Mitchell did not bring the same expectations, but after quickly proving that he was no ordinary rookie, the hype around Mitchell began to swell.

Mitchell and Rubio were not high on anyone's list coming into the season, but they were certainly one of the better backcourts in the league by the end of the year. Hopefully, Spida Mitchell and Jesus enjoy Kevin Hart.
