Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert made some history on Wednesday night as he became the first ever player in franchise history to grab more than 1,000 rebounds in multiple seasons. This is via NBA stats guru Justin Kubatko.

That's quite an achievement for the 26-year-old, who has certainly established himself as one of the most remarkable players in Jazz franchise history.

The reigning Defensive Player of the Year put up a 17-point, 13-rebound double-double against the lowly Phoenix Suns in a 118-97 blowout victory for the Jazz. Gobert was highly efficient from the field, going 7-of-9 from the field, along with three assists, and five blocks.

The Jazz are now 48-30 and are sitting on the fifth overall spot in the Western Conference. The Los Angeles Clippers are a game and a half behind at sixth, and with just four games remaining in the regular season, Utah look primed to enter the postseason with the fifth seed.

Barring any substantial turn of events, the Jazz will face the fourth-placed Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the playoffs. This should prove to be quite a matchup, and has the makings of one of the most epic first-round meetings in this year's playoffs.

Gobert will surely play a crucial role for the Jazz in the postseason, and Utah's defensive stalwart will definitely have his work cut out for him against Damian Lillard and company.

After this season, Gobert still has two years on his current deal and he figures to be part of the team's nucleus moving forward.
