Rudy Gobert couldn't help but become emotional after learning that Quin Snyder has stepped down as the Utah Jazz's head coach.

On Sunday, the Jazz confirmed that Snyder has decided to leave his post after eight years with the team. The Jazz experienced another playoff disappointment in 2021-22 and changes are bound to happen for the franchise this offseason.

While the Jazz apparently hoped Snyder would stay, it appears the head coach thinks it would be best for the team to take another direction.

Obviously, Gobert was saddened by the news. After all, it was Snyder who has allowed him to thrive in Utah after playing sparingly in his first year with the team. The veteran tactician joined the Jazz in 2014-15, which is the Frenchman's second year in the NBA.

“Forever grateful for Quin. Gave me a chance 8 years ago and believed in me when not a lot of people did. And helped our team grow into a Western conference powerhouse through all the ups and downs. Wishing you nothing but the best in your next chapter!” Gobert wrote on Twitter.

With Quin Snyder trusting Rudy Gobert to anchor the Jazz defense, the big man transformed into an elite rim protector with three NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards. There is no doubt the coach was crucial in helping Gobert become the player he is today, so it's not a surprise that the All-Star center had a lot of thoughts about the separation.

It remains to be seen what will happen to the Jazz this offseason, but there is no doubt the latest issue brings more questions than answers.
