The Utah Jazz have a huge offseason ahead of them, with both Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell facing uncertain futures with the team. Now, the team will also be searching for a new head coach ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Jazz head coach Quin Snyder is expected to step down from his role in the coming days, ending his tenure with the team after eight seasons.

The 55-year-old had been the Jazz's head coach since 2014-15, when he took over for Tyrone Corbin. Across his eight years at the helm in Utah, Snyder led the Jazz to the playoffs in six seasons, going 21-30 across 51 postseason games.

The Jazz have had winning records in each of the past six seasons, never recording a winning percentage below .585 during that span. Utah was the Western Conference No. 1 ranked team just two seasons ago, finishing the year with a 52-20 record during the shortened 72-game season. Unfortunately, the Jazz took a step backward in 2021-22, finishing the year fifth in the West at 49-33 and getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.

In all, Snyder leaves Utah as the second-most winningest head coach in franchise history, with 372 wins under his belt, trailing only Jerry Sloan.

NBA insider Marc Stein indicates that Snyder is planning to take a year off from coaching before returning to the fold, at which point he's anticipated to be one of the most sought-after coaching candidates on the market. It's unclear what teams will be looking for a new head coach at that point, but any team in need will certainly have Snyder atop their wishlist.
