In what is becoming an all too familiar scene that continues to play out across the United States, there was another senseless tragedy that involved guns on Wednesday night.

Nikolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. He left at least 17 dead and much more injured.

This one again has sparked the gun control conversations, something that always has strong opinions from both sides and will always probably be a big debate.

As such, Thabo Sefolosha of the Utah Jazz took to his Twitter account to give his thoughts on the tragedy.

“I send all of my prayers and condolences to the victims and their families in Florida…I grew up in Switzerland, where gun control legislation is very strict, and I can assure to you that the system is working. People rarely die from gun wounds. Hard to understand why it is such a debate in the US to change things, because the system clearly doesn’t work”

In the coming weeks, this will be taken up more, but Sefolosha's stance seems to be more and more the thoughts of most Americans' as plenty more people die each day from gun violence.

For Sefolosha, he has a lot of time right now to try and help make some changes in the United States. After being a big part of the Jazz's rotation this season he had an MCL injury that required surgery.  The surgery took place on January 17th, and he is expected to miss at least six months. Sefolosha should be ready to go through at the start of next season.
