Why The Pacers Could Cover The Spread/Win

The Pacers had everything go well for them. First, they shot incredibly well. Indiana hit 53.8 percent of its shots from the floor, including 34.6 percent from the triples. Then, they held the Knicks to 43.9 percent shooting. It also helped that they dominated the boards 47-35. Additionally, the Pacers blocked eight shots and forced seven turnovers.

Siakam was their best player. He is averaging 21.2 points per game throughout the playoffs. Haliburton had a solid game to help the Pacers. He is currently averaging 18.3 points and 8.3 assists per game. Turner was good. At the moment, he is averaging 17.6 points per game in these playoffs.

But the Pacers won this game because they got contributions from more players than these three. Significantly, Nembhard played a role. He is now averaging 12.4 points per game in these playoffs. Furthermore, Tobbin showed up and showed out. He is averaging 11.7 points per game in the postseason. Meanwhile, McConnell also had a good now and now is averaging 10.7 points per game.

Hitting their shots and playing tight defense helped the Pacers win the game in the second quarter. When that happened, they took control of every aspect of the game and took down the Knicks.

The Pacers will cover the spread if they can continue finding open shots from all over the court and shoot the rock well. Then, they need to win the boards and play tight defense to overcome the Knicks.

Why The Knicks Could Cover The Spread/Win

When the playoffs began, the Knicks were already without Julius Randle. Despite that, they had the depth to overcome the Philadelphia 76ers and advance to the second round. But then, OG Anunoby suffered a hamstring injury in this series. The injury to Hart puts a new damper on their plans. Ultimately, the Knicks are dealing with numerous obstacles right now and will need their absolute best players to overcome this.

Brunson is their best player and is doing everything he can to carry the Knicks on his back. Now, he needs to do that and even more to help the Knicks advance. Brunson is averaging 33.7 points per game in the playoffs and looks to be an explosive threat from all over the court. But with Hart possibly out, who will help him?

DiVincenzo is the first name that comes to mind. Currently, he is averaging 16 points per game. But he is shooting 40.9 percent from the floor. Thus, he must find better shots. Burks and McBride will also get the chance to show off their mettle. Yet, the Knicks would like to see something from Isaiah Hartenstein. The Pacers held him in check in Game 6, as he scored four points with seven rebounds. Overall, he has been quiet over the past four games. The Knicks need Hartenstein to rise to the occasion.

The Knicks will cover the spread if Brunson can have an elite game that puts him among the playoff greats. Then, they need Hartenstein and DiVincenzo to step up.

Final Pacers-Knicks Game 7 Prediction & Pick

The Pacers have a golden opportunity to shock the short-handed Knicks on the road. Now, they head to the garden with aspirations of making it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks will once again be without Anunoby. But Hart's abdominal soreness is a major concern for Game 7. The Knicks are 3-0 against the Pacers in three games at Madison Square Garden so far. However, they are 1-3 overall since losing Anunoby. Despite the injuries, the Knicks have shown they can play strong defense in front of their fans. Brunson will reach deep inside to help the Knicks overcome their obstacles and lead the Knicks to a Game 7 win.
