The Utah Jazz lost Game 5 of their playoff series to the Dallas Mavericks, but that is not the most concerning news they got despite the way they played. According to reports, Donovan Mitchell sustained a rather worrisome injury in the contest.

With less than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter against the Mavs, Mitchell was seen limping off the floor. He was clearly in pain as he held his left hamstring while walking to the locker room.

After the contest, it was confirmed that Donovan Mitchell suffered a left hamstring injury and will be evaluated on Tuesday when they return to Utah, per Eric Walden of the Salt Lake Tribune.

The injury couldn't have come at the worst possible time for Mitchell and the Jazz. Utah fell 3-2 to the Mavs after their latest 102-77 loss, so they no longer have any room for error. The potential absence of their superstar guard certainly doesn't bode well with that.

Mitchell's injury is yet to be fully assessed, so it is possible the issue is not too severe. Not to mention that there is a two-day break before Game 5 at home, meaning the 25-year-old still has time to recover. Jazz fans will certainly be hoping for the best as well, especially since players who recently suffered a hamstring injury ended up missing games.

For one, Devin Booker has been ruled out for two to three weeks for the Phoenix Suns after sustaining a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry is expected to miss Game 5 of the Miami Heat's series with the Atlanta Hawks after already sitting out Game 4 because of the same health problem.
