The Utah Jazz might really have to break the Donovan Mitchell-Rudy Gobert partnership, especially if recent rumors prove to be true.

Utah has been dealing with a number of issues as of late–further highlighted by Quin Snyder's departure as head coach–and things are certainly not going well. In a recent report by Marc Berman of the New York Post, Mitchell and Gobert's relationship apparently remain fractured.

Multiple sources say Gobert and Mitchell have never repaired their relationship that hit rock bottom when the pandemic started with each player—Gobert first—testing positive for COVID.

Now this is a situation the Jazz certainly don't want to be in. As they try to navigate the offseason and find a way to best build their roster to become legitimate title contenders, the last thing they want is a strained relationship between their two stars.

Sure, the Jazz have been rumored to be ready to trade anyone not named Donovan Mitchell, but in a situation that they are still trying to figure things out, the issue about Rudy Gobert's fractured relationship with his teammate is not ideal.

Several teams like the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls are monitoring the Jazz situation amid all their offseason uncertainties, and there is no doubt they'll be ready to pounce when they see an opportunity to trade for the two stars.
