Utah Jazz forward Thabo Sefolosha might just have locked up his place in this week’s No. 1 spot of Shaqtin’ a Fool’s top plays.

During the first quarter of Tuesday’s game between the Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder, Sefolosha embarrassed himself not just once, but twice in the same possession.

After stripping the ball from Thunder forward Paul George, Thabo Sefolosha made a mad dash down the court for what seemed to be an easy layup. He only had the slow-footed and the much smaller Thunder guard Raymond Felton running after him. Alas, Sefolosha muffed the layup.

It wasn’t the end of it all.

The Jazz got the possession back thanks to a Ricky Rubio offensive rebound. Rubio immediately darted a pass to Sefolosha, who at this point was eager to make up for his botched layup. But once again, Sefolosha missed a shot from beyond the arc. He didn’t just miss it. He air-balled it. We’re not even sure if known prolific air-baller and Thunder swingman Andre Roberson could be able to top that wonky shot attempt.

But hey, everyone makes a mistake – or mistakes.

Jazz head coach Quin Snyder isn’t going to put Thabo Sefolosha in the doghouse for weeks because of those couple of boneheaded plays. He's way more valuable than that.
