Amidst rumors of Phil Jackson potentially returning to the Lakers – and the Lakers and his current Knicks team both searching for head coaches – fiancée Jeanie Buss is settling at least one report.

The Lakers part-owner told Jay Mohr of Fox Sports:
“When Phil was available, I would have liked to have seen (back in Los Angeles)… My brother made it clear that he and Mitch (Kupchak) didn't need another voice in the front office.”
As far as coming back to the Lakers now, Buss doesn't see it happening:
“He's in New York, he's not coming back here. I've empowered Jimmy and Mitch everything they need to be successful to create their version, their vision of Lakers basketball, and we have to allow them that time to show us what that vision is.”
