The famous TV game show Jeopardy is once again on the search for a new host. Mike Richards, who stepped into the role as the new host and essentially hired himself, has made the shocking announcement to step down as the host after receiving much backlash.

Richards is also the executive producer of Jeopardy and has now decided to step down after a very short stay as host. After being named the new host, they faced much criticism once old details from a podcast surfaced, in which Richards made some disturbing comments about Jews, women, and others.

While the podcast was eight years ago, it didn't sit well, and the show faced much backlash over the decision, forcing Richards' hand to step down and head back to the drawing board to find another host for Jeopardy.

According to Cynthia Littleton of Variety.com, Richards acknowledged he was a ‘distraction.'

“…too much of a distraction for our fans and not the right move for the show.”

Richards' lengthy statement expressed the difficulty and unfortunate situation that has occurred since he was hired, and now we wait to see who is named as the new host of Jeopardy– again.

Could it be Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers? Doubtful, but you never know at this point.
