After exposing an incident of racism he personally experienced in the NBA G League, Jeremy Lin has since been very vocal about his plight. The 6-foot-3 combo guard has been speaking out loudly against the social injustices Asians experience not only in the realm of sports but across the United States as well.

Recently, Lin released a two-minute video via Instagram that provided further proof as to the racism that Asians are forced to endure in the country every single day:

Jeremy Lin had a very passionate message in his post. Systemic racism against Asians is something that he clearly feels strongly about and he has been very vocal about the atrocity:

“We're tired of our pain being overlooked,” Lin said on the video. “We're tired of keeping our heads down or not making any trouble when our elders are being assaulted, stabbed, and killed. Wouldn't you be?”

Lin, an American citizen of Taiwanese descent, was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. In his message, he also went on to detail the various hate crimes against Asians that have recently become more violent and more common. The 32-year-old talked about how an 84-year-old Thai grandfather was left to die in the streets of San Francisco after being attacked. Lin also touched on an incident involving a 64-year-old grandmother assaulted in San Jose, as well as a Filipino-American man slashed across the face in a racially-charged attack in New York.

According to Jeremy Lin, this is something that has to stop now. His strong message also served as a call to arms:

“We're tired of this hateful violence. We're tired of talking about it. But we're not done speaking out. Far from it,” he said. ” … Reach out to offer your support. To educate others. And let's put an end to this violence and hate, together.”

As the fight against social injustice and systemic racism continues to rage on, Lin wants to make sure that the plight of Asians in the United States is also something that is included in the conversation.
