C.J Mosley joined the New York Jets in 2019 on a very lucrative deal that will see him get $51 million guaranteed across five years. Entering year three of that deal, Mosley has played in a grand total of two games for the Jets.

That hasn't stopped him from talking the talk with the 2021 season set to get underway in less than a month. Via ProFootballTalk, Mosley put the rest of the league on notice with a bold statement on how the Jets will do this year.

“I’d go back to one of my quotes when I first got here: People are sleeping on the Jets, and if people come with that same mentality, they’re going to get their ass blown out,” Mosley said. “That’s 100 percent, whether we’re at MetLife or anywhere else. If they think there’s anything old about this Jets team, it’s not going to end well for them. That’s the mindset we’re going to bring to work every day.”

To bundle this altogether, this is a Jets team coming off a 2-14 season but they did just draft quarterback Zach Wilson with the No. 2 overall pick out of BYU. There is optimism about Wilson being the answer at quarterback for the Jets, but not many expect New York to seriously contend for a playoff spot this year.

If Mosley can stay healthy he will provide a big boost at linebacker for the defense. Still, his claims of blowing teams out this year with the Jets seems a bit far-fetched given the total talent pool, or lack-thereof, on the roster.
