Jamal Adams isn't exactly pleased with how the trade deadline went. After hearing his name in trade rumors — most often to his hometown team, the Dallas Cowboys — the New York Jets, awkwardly, decided to retain the All-Pro safety. Since then, he has not talked to general manager Joe Douglas or head coach Adam Gase.

However, Adams has spoken to CEO and acting owner Christopher Johnson. He noted that he is “comfortable” with the acting owner (as Woody Johnson is overseas as the U.S. Ambassador in the United Kingdom).

“It went well,” Adams said on Friday, via Neil Best of Newsday. “I’m at peace with everything. I am going to eventually talk to those guys. I’m just not ready to talk. At the end of the day, I’m a human. When you get something that just happened like that, you get into an argument or whatever it is, a disagreement with somebody, some people handle it different ways. I do. I’m just not ready to talk. That’s not saying I’m mad or I’m a diva. That’s what everybody [says]. I don’t care about that. I really don’t. My focus is on this team. I’m ready to play ball.”

Adams ended being in his feelings after that statement. Going forward, he is a New York Jet. Though he may have wanted to return home, that is not in his control. He is focused on helping the team turnaround a disaster of a season — in which they are 1-6 after seven games — by beating the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. That is that.
