During his media session with reporters on Tuesday, New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas sounded like a guy who is thinking about bringing back Adam Gase next season, much to the chagrin of Jets fans everywhere.

New York is 0-8 on the season and quarterback Sam Darnold has regressed under Gase.

However, Douglas said the Jets' putrid season isn't all of Gase's fault and that he views the 42-year-old as “part of the solution.”

“This is not all on Adam,” Douglas said, per Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. “I have to do a better job of surrounding him with better players and better weapons. We’re in this together. I’m thinking of everything I can do to try to help Adam. The goal is to get this fixed together.”

There's a chance the Jets could go 0-16 this season. With that said, all signs point toward New York landing the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Jets fans are praying that Joe Douglas is just saying the politically correct thing right now to the media. Adam Gase hasn't done anything in New York to warrant consideration for coming back next season, especially with his poor record and schemes that continue to frustrate fans.

Gase has won just seven games since taking the job. Ryan Tannehill has looked like a completely different player with the Tennessee Titans since getting away from Gase.

Jets fans can only hope that Gase won't be back in 2021 and that Trevor Lawrence is the team's new quarterback.
