Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins is a few weeks from entering free agency for the first time in his career. There will be several teams in the market looking to make a strong push to land Cousins next month, and among those will be the Denver Broncos and New York Jets.

According to Bovada, the Jets have opened up the week as the betting favorites to acquire the 29-year-old.

This change in the betting odds could come from the fact that there is a report that New York is willing to spend whatever it takes to sign Cousins to deal over the offseason. There was also the notion thrown out there that the front office was only the team willing to offer him a fully guaranteed deal.

The Jets are projected to have more than $73 million in salary cap space that will allow them to present Cousins with a lucrative offer with a premium annual salary that could make him one of the highest-paid players in the league.

The 29-year-old has already spoken quite highly of the new offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, which has the potential to be used a bargaining chip to land him.

That said, the Denver Broncos have remained near the top of the list in the current odds given what they have to offer. They possess one of the top defensive units in the league along with some proven veteran pieces on the offensive side of the ball that Cousins can work with such as wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders and running back CJ Anderson. The Cardinals also present an intriguing situation that will feature All-Pro wideout Larry Fitzgerald and Pro Bowl running back David Johnson.

Cousins has demonstrated to be a more than capable starting quarterback over the last few seasons posting 4,000 passing yards with at least 25 touchdowns and a passer rating above 90 in each of the last three campaigns. He is also coming off another highly productive year where he threw for 4,093 yards on a 64.3 percent completion percentage with 27 touchdown passes to 13 interceptions and 93.9 passer rating.

All of this should make for what should be an intense free agency decision process for Cousins with several options available in front of him.
