New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold has encountered quite the rocky season due to both the team's lack of success and some injury trouble of his own. Aiding such a notion, Darnold was seen with a noticeable limp toward the end of Sunday afternoon's loss on the road to the previously winless Cincinnati Bengals.

While it initially appeared as though Darnold was possibly battling a left foot injury of some kind against the Bengals, the Jets starting signal-caller has since attempted to downplay such a setback.

“I just got stepped on, I guess,” Darnold recently said, via ESPN. “I honestly don’t even really know what happened. No, I’m not concerned with it.”

Jets head coach Adam Gase doesn't appear to be too concerned about Darnold and his health either.

“He just took some shots on the last drive,” Gase added, via ESPN. “He kind of got torqued a little bit, but he should be all right.”

Darnold has already appeared in nine regular-season games for the Jets in 2019-20, a team that is now just 4-8 on the year. During that same stretch, Darnold has thrown for 2,154 yards through the air in addition to compiling 13 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. On a more positive note, Darnold's completion percentage is up to a clip of 63 percent after completing 57 percent of his passing attempts as a rookie last season.

Looking to bounce back after a forgettable loss to the now one-win Cincinnati Bengals, Darnold, and the Jets will take on the rival Miami Dolphins in Week 13.
