Fresh off another brutal loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 10, the New York Jets are in need of some serious changes if they want to make any progress this season. In Robert Saleh’s first year with the team he’s had to endure a series of setbacks and more miscues than he was hoping for. In his continued efforts to implement a winning culture in the organization, Saleh has fallen short with the Jets on multiple occasions this season.

From an unsteady quarterback situation to a series of defensive slip-ups, the New York Jets have unquestionably had a rough go of it during their 2021-22 campaign. So with all this chaos brewing for the Jets, we’ll now discuss the two biggest takeaways from their ugly Week 10 loss to the Bills.

Jets Week 10 Takeaways From Loss To Bills

The Jets need to sort out their quarterback situation

From a struggling rookie quarterback in Zach Wilson to the wily veteran Mike White, the Jets have had a scattered offense all season long and it starts with their inability to find some consistency under center. If they are to pull out a few quality wins and start to turn things around, then they should start by trying to remedy their quarterback situation which has been horrendous all year long.

Even though White has had flashes of greatness at a few moments throughout this season, the Jets still hold a 2-7 record and are currently sitting at the bottom of the AFC East. So as they continue to search for answers on offense, they’ll need to start by finding a reliable solution in the pocket.

New York has to improve defensively

With a slew of blowout losses on their resume this season, the New York Jets have been horribly inconsistent on the defensive side of the field. This comes as a huge surprise considering that Saleh is one of the best defensive minds in the game and was expected to get the most out of their personnel while building a top-tier defensive unit. If there is one thing that’s been exposed this year, it’s that the Jets are due for some serious roster overhaul on defense this offseason and will most assuredly have their work cut out for them.

Even though there’s still a bit of a ways to go before the regular season concludes, it doesn’t seem like the Jets will be making any progress during the last eight weeks of the season. Crazier things have happened though, and if they’re able to implement the necessary changes across the board then maybe they can turn things around on defense and make a late season playoff push.

All these moving parts for the Jets just further go to show that they need to make some serious changes if they’re hoping to right the ship and save their season from being a complete catastrophe. As a young team that’s still learning the ropes, the Jets will have to go through a few more hurdles before successfully beginning a new chapter, and unfortunately for them this may not be their season to break through and grab a wild card spot in this year’s playoffs.
