The Philadelphia 76ers took a 3-0 stranglehold on their series with the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night after a thrilling OT win thanks to Joel Embiid, who drained a game-winning triple with just seconds left on the clock. It was truly a ridiculous shot and just capped off what was another fantastic night for the big man, showing out for 33 points and 13 rebounds. At this point, just give the Sixers star the NBA MVP already.

Nikola Jokic is still considered the favorite to win the prestigious award, which is expected to be announced in June. While MVP is usually based on the regular season, it's practically impossible to not consider what Embiid is doing in the first round and think “Hey, he could really deserve this.”

In three games thus far, Embiid is averaging 27.7 points, 13 rebounds, and two assists, all while getting absolutely hounded by the Raptors' defense. But, the Sixers center is still finding a way to dominate and propel his team to victory, proving he really is the Most Valuable Player. During the regular season? Well, he only won the scoring title, putting up 30.6 points per night while grabbing 11.7 rebounds and dishing out 4.2 dimes. Come on.

It's these moments that Joel Embiid lives for. His team needed him to rise to the occasion and get it done and like he's done countless times before, he delivered. Embiid truly looked like the best player in the league after this dagger.

Sure, Jokic carried the Nuggets to the playoffs without Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. But, you can't take for granted what Embiid did, either. The Sixers went through a terrible spell of COVID-19 and he still kept them afloat. In overtime on Wednesday, James Harden was unavailable after fouling out in the fourth. Nevertheless, Embiid took the bull by the horns and led by example as a true MVP does.

Embiid deserves to win the award. There is absolutely no question. You don't play like he has all season then also on the big stage and not get rewarded for it. Jokic is struggling against the Warriors as well.

Give Joel Embiid the damn MVP.
