There was plenty of hype leading up to the showdown between Philadelphia 76ers budding star Joel Embiid and All-Star center Andre Drummond. As two of the more promising young bigs in the league, they were naturally going to go head-to-head a majority of the night.

Needless to say, Embiid got the last laugh after he managed to foul Drummond out en route to the Sixers 108-103 win over the Detroit Pistons. In typical Embiid fashion, he followed up his solid performance with some more bold claims.

During a postgame interview on NBA TV, he was asked by former NBA All-Star Caron Butler who the best big man in the league is, to which Embiid gave a not so surprising answer:

Embiid has become accustomed to giving himself such esteemed titles on his meteoric rise as a future superstar. The former No. 3 overall pick has already called himself both the best defensive player in the league, along with being its best soccer player.

Now he has seemingly taken up the mantle as the self-proclaimed best big man in the NBA. There is no denying that Embiid's year so far has been nothing short of spectacular with the skill set he has showcased early on. Although there are those who would be more than willing to plead his case, it would not be asking too much to want to see a larger sample size at this point in time.
