When a player endures an injury in the NFL, it's usually a precaution to undergo an MRI to know for sure what's happened. Even if the medical experts don't believe a break or tear has occurred, it's good to know for sure. Often, these examinations occur on the Monday after a game.

That wasn't the case with Dez Bryant.

During an interview on 105.3 The Fan, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that Bryant is yet to have an MRI for his injured knee, although one still could occur later today.

Jones is confident that it's not necessary, claiming that he expects Dez to play in the Cowboys' Week 4 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

Bryant suffered the injury on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears. Even though X-rays came back negative, an MRI would check for a possible soft tissue injury not caught previously.

Jones was not asked why Bryant hasn't undergone an MRI to this point.
