UFC Vegas 93: Alex Perez vs. Tatsuro Taira continues on the prelims with a fight in the welterweight division between Josh Quinlan and Adam Fugitt. Quinlan is now 1-2 in the UFC coming off back-to-back losses most recently getting knocked out in round three in his last fight meanwhile, Fugitt is also 1-2 in the UFC and was submitting in his most recent fight inside the Octagon. With that said, check out our UFC odds series for our Quinlan-Fugitt prediction and pick.

Josh Quinlan (6-2) looked like he was going to be the next big thing when he competed on the Contender Series when he finished Logan Urban and then did one better when he brutally knocked out Jason Witt in just over two minutes into the first round. However, Quinlan has gone on to lose his next two fights putting him in a must-win situation when he takes on Adam Fugitt this weekend at UFC Vegas 93.

Adam Fugitt (9-4) punched his ticket to the UFC with a knockout of Solomon Renfro in just 43 seconds in LFA. He is now just 1-2 in his UFC career with a TKO win against Yusaku Kinoshita sandwiched between a pair of losses inside the distance against Mike Malott and Michael Morales. Fugitt will be looking to right the ship and avoid losing back-to-back fights when he takes on Josh Quinlan this weekend.

Why Josh Quinlan Will Win

Josh Quinlan made his mark when he secured his contract on the Contender Series back in 2021 when he finished Logan Urban in just 47 seconds. He was able to do one better when he knocked out Jason Witt a seasoned veteran in just a little over two minutes in the first round in his UFC debut. Now, he is riding a two-fight losing streak most recently being beaten by fellow Contender Series alumni Danny Barlow by knockout in round three. Quinlan hopes a matchup with Adam Fugitt will help his losing woes and get him back on track this weekend at UFC Vegas 93.

Quinlan is a finisher by nature with all six of his wins coming by finish, 4 by knockout, and two by submission. He loves to press the action, come forward, and land heavy strikes to put his opponents away. In his last two fights, he went against two rangy strikers which gave Quinlan trouble finding his range. That is something that Quinlan will not have to worry about when he faces off against Fugitt. While Fugitt is a tough and durable fighter he lacks the movement or range striking that would give Quinlan issues. If Quinlan can avoid taking unnecessary damage against Fugitt, he should be the one to land the heavier shots as he gets back on track this weekend.

Why Adam Fugitt Will Win

Adam Fugitt punched his ticket to the UFC with a brutal first-round knockout over Solomon Renfro as a sizable underdog in LFA. However, those good times were short-lived once he got the call to the UFC as he is now just 1-2 in his last three fights as he was most recently finished by Mike Malott who submitted him via a guillotine choke in the second round. With his back against the wall, Fugitt will take on Quinlan in a do-or-die situation this weekend at the UFC Apex.

Fugitt while hasn’t fared well in the UFC still has had his moments. He’s fought a tough fight against two top prospects in the welterweight division before eventually being finished by both. He also had a dominating finish of Yusaku Kinoshita that honestly was one of the best performances of his career. Fugitt is an all-around fighter who has the knockout ability on the feet as well as the grappling to make this a gritty fight on the mat. While Fugitt can stand and trade with Quinlan he would be better suited to take the fight to the mat to make it easier on himself. If he can avoid getting into a brawl with Quinlan he has a chance at getting the win this weekend.

Final Josh Quinlan-Adam Fugitt Prediction & Pick

This should be a banger for however long it lasts between these two welterweights. Both Quinlan and Fugitt are fighting for their UFC careers this weekend which should make this an exciting fight. Ultimately, Quinlan is as dangerous as it comes but Fugitt seems to be a tough fighter to put away easily like he did in his last two wins and the way that Fugitt can mix in the takedowns as well as land heavy shots on the feet gives him more ways to win and he eventually wears out Quinlan getting the finish and back into the win column.
