Justin Gaethje is known as a violent fighter heading into UFC 268. He has a very unique mindset when he heads into fights.

He has to get his mind to a certain point in order to fight in his intense and primal style. His mindset at UFC 268 against Michael Chandler is no different.

He spoke to Yahoo! Sports about his unique mindset.

“It’s the natural competitiveness plus the fact that he’s trying to take everything from me,” Gaethje said ahead of UFC 268. “He’s super dangerous. I’ve got to make this as real as possible. The danger has to be real so I can go to the primal state I need to go to to fight somebody, to hurt somebody with no regard for their safety, or mine.

“It takes a special … It’s a process and the danger has to be real. The danger has to be as real as someone having a gun in your face. Our bodies do this crazy thing where, naturally, we release chemicals, toxins, all kinds of shit and we are able to sustain pain and perform under that pressure.”

Justin Gaethje puts on exciting fights and can tend to go ‘balls to the wall' and let everything go. He changed his style after the Eddie Alvarez fight which was his first professional loss.

UFC 268 will be another showcase of his new fight style that sees him remain entertaining while fighting a smart fight. He will be looking to put on a show against Michael Chandler at UFC 268.
