Following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, it was absolutely crucial to hand Paulo Dybala a new extension in Turin. Well, it appears the two parties are in advanced talks, with the Argentine nearing a new deal with Juve. Via Fabrizio Romano:

Juventus haven’t exactly enjoyed the best start to the season, going winless in their first four Serie A games before beating Spezia on Wednesday. Dybala meanwhile has scored two goals across all competitions. He struggled to really fit in alongside Ronaldo, but before the Portuguese international arrived, he flourished with the Old Lady.

The 2017-18 campaign saw Dybala hit 22 league goals and also bagged 11 in 2019-20. However, he scored just four times last term. Juventus clearly sees him as a massive part of their attack because he has shown the ability in the past to be a key figure in the final third.

Dybala would become a free agent next summer if a new deal isn’t struck but all signs point to him staying put. He has all the opportunity to shine and be the main man for Juventus as they look to make a run at a Serie A title after a disappointing fourth-place finish last term which saw them barely sneak into the Champions League.
