The Kentucky Wildcats entered their first game of the NCAA Tournament (a.k.a March Madness) as massive favorites over St. Peter's. Coach John Calipari's squad has consistently made deep runs in the tournament, and this year seemed like no exception. However, they encountered a boogeyman in Shaheen Holloway.

Against the Peacocks, Kentucky uncharacteristically struggled, eventually leading to an upset loss to St. Peter's 85 – 79. This loss marked the end of their 30-game winning streak over double-digit seeded teams in the tournament (St. Peter's was seeded at number 15). (via Jon Rothstein)

The fifteenth-seeded St. Peter's were 18.5-point underdogs against the second-seeded Kentucky squad. Yet, they overcame all odds and beat their opponent. That upset is the fourth-largest win by a lower-seeded team in the NCAA Tournament since 1985. This was also the second consecutive year that a fifteenth-seed team knocked out the second-seeded team.

We already got our fair share of insane upsets in the college basketball scene prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M shocked the scene by making an insane run through the SEC Tournament, but they were unfortunately snubbed in the selection of the wild card teams. We will surely get more upsets as the tournament progresses, as more teams like Kentucky will get blindsided by their opponents.

It will also be interesting to follow this St. Peter's team in the following days. This win over the Wildcats will paint a huge target on their backs. Their next opponent won't take them as lightly as their first-round opponents. Can they continue their upset-happy ways?
