The Sacramento Kings have been in the midst of a rough stretch on the court. Sacramento has lost three straight games, with frustrations boiling over among the players. Now, the Kings will have to take on a solid Washington Wizards team without head coach Alvin Gentry, who recently tested positive for COVID-19, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

This is tough news for Alvin Gentry and the Kings. Wojnarowski reports that Gentry, who is vaccinated, is asymptomatic and only has a scratchy throat. That's the best-case scenario for Sacramento.

If Gentry can test negative twice in 24 hours, he can return to the Kings' sideline. it sounds like that could happen sooner rather than later, though the Kings will still need a head coach for Wednesday's game.

Sacramento has yet to decide on an acting interim head coach for the game against the Wizards, though the organization is reportedly deciding between assistant coaches Mike Longabardi and Doug Christie, per Wojnarowski.

Aside from Gentry's positive test, the Kings also cancelled their morning shootaround, so the team could be anticipating further positive tests among the players.

Sacramento is just the latest NBA team to fall victim to the latest COVID-19 outbreak in the NBA. Hopefully, Gentry will be back on the sidelines soon for the Kings, who have struggled to piece together wins lately.
